more unique, definitely. I just find obliteration a lot more entertaining. even though they're a hard throwback style, I still think they're so tight in all aspects of their music and it's always so extremely well-done. not that this isn't because it is. I just really love that style.

Listened to this album a couple more times and it's sticking better, but still don't know how I feel about it. I feel like perhaps I can't get into this or Vermis much because it's just enough for me anymore? Idk, whenever I listen to Destroyers it's a super nostalgic experience from when I was driving across New Zealand and the music on that one just gets me in a really unique way. Everything Is Fire has a nostalgia to it as well that always leaves me relistening and loving it, but this and Vermis I just haven't felt a connection to, sadly.

not saying anybody lol just a big albums staff rev has a big effect on scores. look at some score disparitys on sput and rym

to be fair, rym is a bad measure since it is plagued by trolls downrating, especially metal albums whenever they get attention

actually an example i found is tomorrow we die alive by born of osiris (think what you want about the album) has a 2.7 here (2.0 staff rev) and on rym it has a 3.06 almost identical to their next album which is a 3.07 which is a 3.2 here.
