yeah i like the osdm throwback stuff like obliteration and the newer caverncore stuff but these guys fascinate me way more, so unique and idk theres no other death metal like it

Album Rating: 5.0
more unique, definitely. I just find obliteration a lot more entertaining. even though they're a hard throwback style, I still think they're so tight in all aspects of their music and it's always so extremely well-done. not that this isn't because it is. I just really love that style.

Listened to this album a couple more times and it's sticking better, but still don't know how I feel about it. I feel like perhaps I can't get into this or Vermis much because it's just enough for me anymore? Idk, whenever I listen to Destroyers it's a super nostalgic experience from when I was driving across New Zealand and the music on that one just gets me in a really unique way. Everything Is Fire has a nostalgia to it as well that always leaves me relistening and loving it, but this and Vermis I just haven't felt a connection to, sadly.

i love you jac i think i'll 5 this
|
| |
no doubt jacs rev is causing a bit of hivemind on this album in general

Album Rating: 4.0

Album Rating: 5.0
I follow jac's opinion on things but that is completely separate from my enjoyment of this. feel free to tear me apart now
|
| |
not saying anybody lol just a big albums staff rev has a big effect on scores. look at some score disparitys on sput and rym
|
| |
Album Rating: 4.0
to be fair, rym is a bad measure since it is plagued by trolls downrating, especially metal albums whenever they get attention
|
| |
actually an example i found is tomorrow we die alive by born of osiris (think what you want about the album) has a 2.7 here (2.0 staff rev) and on rym it has a 3.06 almost identical to their next album which is a 3.07 which is a 3.2 here.
