For the longest time I thought some of the less interesting tracks (Stay Here, I’m Sorry, This Is specifically) just went on too long but eh fuck it the rest of this is strong enough for a 5.

Second Son of R, Being Able to Feel Nothing, Needles in Your Skin, Immortals, and Where I Live are some of the best metal I’ve ever heard, and I really dig the dreary post rockish atmosphere the record ends on with the two final tracks.

I would literally kill for one last record from these guys. The Ease Me compilation was such a weak way for them to go out imo

They really did go out on a weak note with that song/ep. Shame because Rheia and Eros are so incredible. Caro needs a new band

The song itself was fine imo, the production was just fucking terrible.

Like I refuse to believe Shirley was involved with that, it sounded like a fucking mess

Oh man this record holds up so smoothly. Probably my favorite post BM record of this era, when I discovered Sunbather and started looking for similar stuff.

Have you checked "Altar of Plagues - Teethed Glory & Injury" and "Vattnet Viskar - Settler"?

Those are also some of my favorites post black albums ever

"Hiatus, Caro and one of the guitarists where dating i think. Didnt end well so hiatus, then everyone got busy with other projects (Amenra, Wiegedood, Predatory void etc) covid probably didnt help. I think Caros living in America and is married now

Tldr: basically broken up"

I think I mentioned it somewhere here in this thread too that my friend and I spoke to Caro a bit when we saw Amenra as she was working the merch shop. We got into discussing Oathbreaker a little bit and asked if there was anything going on there and the most she said was there's some talks about it going on but noting superficial. I pretty much take that as a long shot anything new is coming and if it is, it's a long ways away. She seems really happy just touring with Amenra and doing her own thing so whatever makes her happy is best.

Side note, she was super friendly and awesome to chat with. Also made me laugh how she got on stage to do her part in Amenra's final track of the night then a minute later is right back to selling more merch.

yeah, that’s more than I expected tbh. we’re gonna keep the hope alive here boys.

Obv happy she’s just doing what she wants but it’ll never not bum me out how these guys seemed like they’re were just about to blow up and then called it quits, yeah they were playing dives here in the US but they were selling those mfs out.

Realistically I don’t know where they take their sound from here, but I’d be very happy with more of this.

And yeah Johnny that’s weird to point out but so much of these old sput descriptions and reviews are very oddly phrased. The Jane Doe review description always got a laugh out of me

Need to revisit this. It is probably better than I originally thought.

Best blackgaze (if you wanna call it that) record ever imo. Like Sunbather levels to me. Instrumentally I’d probably put the band’s on about equal footing but Caro is just the little push to get them over the top.

One of the best records of the last decade for me
