What the actual fuck, I was not prepared for this voice lmao
@wildcard, I diid the exact same after one of his shows here in France, and he listened and talked to me like if I was a friend, genuinely the sweetest dude.

@wildcard something especially cathartic about these guys after losing someone.
That secret voice thing is hilarious... so is that his real voice and he is actively suppressing it at all time?!
ALSO the new gloom version or whatever of Rapture is really good...

from the little research I did it seems like his condition is actually psychological in nature. For whatever reason his mind/body wants to default to his prepubescent voice even though he should naturally speak in a lower register.

Yeah I don’t usually buy cover albums like that but if they’re all as good as that version of Rapture I will absolutely cop it

I’m seriously so fucking obsessed with that “Gloom” version of Rapture… I’m not at all familiar with Wisp, but that sounded like Jeremy to me? I’m assuming that the female vocals was Wisp harmonizing with him?
I’m really not one to get too into cover albums or whatever but if they’re all that good I will for sure be buying it.

yeah the gloom version of Rapture is phenomenal. Stage 4 is by far my favorite album of theres so super cool to get an alternate version.

One of the best screamo albums of all time, and one of the best albums ever in general.
Do you guys have that one movie that you think is great but is just too emotionally draining / depressing to handle? Like something that you don’t actively look forward to watching but will acknowledge that it’s a masterpiece? Something like Come and See or Requiem for a Dream, for instance.
This is that just in audio form.
I just… can’t anymore. Outside of Palm Dreams, which is just a heater (and is slightly less painfully sad) of a track, I struggle to listen to this album these days.

Yeah I know exactly what you mean
I don't think I had listened to this since my dad passed away just over four years ago for exactly that reason

They crushed their set in Austin for the 10yr tour of this. Played Gather live first time ever and packed in all the old classics at the end. Beautiful night.

Just got my Stage Four t delivered today. Love parting the sea but this just tops it

Yeah this is my favorite of theirs and it’s not particularly close.
But I think I’m a little different than most. I love Dead Horse, and like Parting the Sea and Is Survived By a lot, but personally I think Lament is their next best, and Spiral in a Straight Line is probably next. Definitely a bigger fan of Stage Four onward than those first few
