He's still part of that album so it counts, he also played on Remember a Day and Heart of the Sun didn't he? The album still have that Syd sound although it sounds much more than their 70's albums. It's more underrated than The Wall that's for sure.

the wall and dark side suffer from that weird situation where an album gets really fucking popular, so hardcore fans like to prove they're not the best albums by the band despite there being a reason for the popular opinion. so in a way they're both overrated (by common crowd) and underrated (by music 'aficionados')
