this is so creative it blows my mind. so dreamy and utopian sounding. a perfect balance between technology and nature crafted into sound.

agreed. having said that this is still probably their most technical work. the drum patterns especially are insanely tech and confounding. great balance between atmosphere, amazing composition, artistry, and technicality. easily one of my fave modern prog works now. need more music that takes chances like this and is headed towards the future in metal. i've said elsewhere i think kayo dot's release 'plastic house on base of sky' is the latest realization in this realm. this reaches similar heights of ingenuity and awareness for what lies ahead on the more influenced end of prog metal. although this is highly organic, the album is brimming with that feeling of a lush nature filled world for sure.
i love how this accomplishes its atmosphere seamlessly by creating its own unique sonic platte, as apposed to relying on prog cliches & typical tropes that many musicians these days seem to think constitutes progressive music just because their album includes multiple 30 second interludes of generic zappa prog or symphonic cheese. this is far from any of that. highly wonderous.

Agreed with Animals' comments. My favorite Contortionist and one of the best prog albums in recent years. Language I: Intuition is a perfect song.

Agreed that’s why I’ll take something like this over almost any Dream Theater album. I favor strong atmosphere over technicality, or a healthy balance of it any day. And Clairvoyant is almost all atmosphere so that’s why it’s my fav TC.

goddamn one of the best metal albums ever for me right now. I can't believe The Contortionist even reached such heights with this album. musical ecstasy.

Listening to this for the first time. I sense the potential for me to like this a lot though I don't really like the death growls at all. Thankfully they are minimal enough to look past.

They're the only flaws this has along with some deathcore sections. The traces of their roots in an otherwise amazing album.

if Conspire ended with the deathcore it would sound way better than forcing the 2nd half into it

this is like top 25 albums of all time for me. the only way they could have topped Exoplanet is by switching it up entirely and they banged it out of the park

If anything the first half of Conspire should've been different and lose the dxc entirely, but opinions.
What's a little strange to me is that they completely lose all extreme metal in Clairvoyant, and even though it's a great album with some fantastic moments, I hear a loss of technicality, some creativity, and the engrossing atmosphere that this exudes like constantly.
