I've only heard people being more than positive about it, so my expectations are high

I'm definitely not getting Rush. I mean their instrumentation and skills are all very apparent plus they're all great, talented musicians. It just that certain je ne sais quoi offsetting it for me. obviously this doesn't apply to the band's discography as a whole seeing as they have a couple of brilliant songs I enjoy ("Clockwork Angels" is pretty cool on this one for example). but damn is all I'm saying..

I'm not saying it's bad. that would be objectively wrong. it's totally decent and at times really good. there's just something missing/awkward about Rush that I cannot shake. gotta say though, this album is the best I've heard of them. besides YYZ. that song kicks ass.

I'd probably rate this 2.5 but I'll pass on it out of respect for the band. hope you have a great concert in Berlin when they play there this summer.
