I mean, personal preference and all, but I think "Outro" is the best they've ever done. Also, don't listen to Doof - "Claudia Lewis" and "Steve McQueen" are as good as those songs, and the interludes are beautiful. "Where the Boats Go", "Klaus", and "Another Wave" are all very good for interludes

I find the interludes boring and the other songs a bit messy and re-run'y but I do get that I'm in the minority on this one.

I just remember playing this to death when it came out and the critical reception was crazily high...but I never fell in love with it.

I think you just have to love the whole 'sonic landscape' thing with this album, a 'love every note' sort of deal. I have a lot of albums that work like that for me (something like the sigur ros brackets album etc) but I just never bonded with this.

agree doof, this is only worth it for the handful of excellent songs. 3/5 for me

Glad we're all in agreement.

"Midnight City" is an eternal jam. [∞]

who cares, it doesn't rule any less because it's popular and overused. i avoid adverts whenever possible so i don't notice it. song has honestly never gotten tiring despite numerous plays

well ye, I still have it rated as a 5 star song as posted above

just last time I played it the wife exclaimed 'it's the Made in Chelsea music' which made me...I don't know what it made me feel.

not anything good

it's still a class song just need to remember it isn't just the main hook, you kinda need to get beyond the hook and into the sax

I love how it literally ends with it fading out as that sax is hitting an even higher note.

Like in case you thought we were calming the fuck down. Think again.

Where did the 4 go??

Side Note: If you dont end "Wait" in tears or doing frantic air drums or both, you probably have no soul.

I’ve never heard Midnight City outside of this album... didn’t know it was ever used on anything
I’ve tried to listen through this several times over the years but always give up before the end because nothing ever comes close to Midnight City

It's the pinnacle song, but I think this whole album slays which is not something I can say for other albums this length.
