I was slightly underwhelmed by both Heroes and Hunky Dory, this & Station to Station are Bowie’s pinnacle for me.

I agree that this and Station to Station are peak Bowie, but I don't know how you can ever feel underwhelmed by Hunky Dory. So many classics. Heroes, too, to a slightly lesser degree. But Hunky Dory is a goddamn masterpiece.

He’s a pretty weird guy, stylistically and aesthetically all over the place. You can see why there’s not really a consensus on his best works, at least here (I realise there is in the ‘mainstream’). Lodger and Aladdin Sane are up there for me, ahead of all his heralded works, except the two I mentioned.

i'm still of the opinion that Sound and Vision is absolutely peak Bowie, and the only song that could rival it for my all time favorite is Station to Station.

Hunky Dory is my favorite Bowie, this is second. Pretty much impossible to compare those two albums tho.
