I like wildlife a lot more than this because of how lyrical and enjoyable it is at least for me

I never liked the instrumentation on Wildlife either. The lyrics and vocals on here are delivered perfectly. This owns Wildlife from head to toe.

The guy's simply not proficient enough as a vocalist to carry an entire album i.e. Wildlife.
Here, the passion and lyrics are sufficient to strike a balance with the music, but it rings hollow
when he's left to wax lyrical by himself.

Palumbo managed it on EYEWKTAS, but he's a fucking beast.

i just think the whole wave scene fizzled out noticeably after about 2010. the drop in quality for la dispute, touche and pianos after this, dead horse, the ta/ld split and old pride was really dramatic. regardless of whether you think those bands were worth the hype in the first place (def arguable), they are much less interesting now.

as much as I love La Dispute and PBTT...no, the hype around this scene is not warranted at all. some hype is warranted, but not this sort.

and touche amore is starting to really really annoy me. i can't even listen to the new one anymore.

I'll always have a soft spot for these guys, especially since they're from around here. But yes, the 'wave' was a fad.

i hate it when people talk about "the wave" as if the bands that are supposedly a part of this nonexistent movement are any different from any other modern hardcore/screamo bands. they're just bands like any others, listen to the ones you like and don't listen to the ones you don't like.

I say positive things all the time. Example:

I'll always have a soft spot for these guys, especially since they're from around here.
