Difference is you'll probably still enjoy Thrice when you grow up, but you won't enjoy the word attack attack!

it's just so weird to me that the same people who deride shit like Attack Attack and whatever as objectively, artistically
worthless trash don't see the irony of them enjoying this.

sea i can make the same argument for you. just with a different genre, i.e. indie.
|
| |
not following, bailar, I have nothing against a genre in general

Album Rating: 3.5
err how youll criticize certains groups within the indie genre, similar to how people criticize bands like attack attack and then go and praise music that is generally the same thing. the argument you made.
|
| |
um what? lol I was saying that this is similar quality-wise AND sound-wise as that other shit Attack Attack or whatever...
if I criticize an indie band it's because of the quality of their music not because of what genre they play.
idk I really don't know what you thought I said

i never said you were criticizing the genre. i was just saying i could apply the same example to a different genre of music, but just so it would fit your case. as i already stated.
|
| |
i might pick this up tonight. haters gonna hate, but this is probably something id enjoy.
|
| |
what? lol. Of course, I criticize shitty bands when they make shitty music.
I was saying this is shitty music, and users who make fun of AA for being shitty don't see the overwhelming similarities between this band and AA. That's all.
Idk give me a specific ex. and this would be clearer I guess, cause I have no idea what you're talking about. Nothing against you man I just don't get where you're coming from.

this is a good example within the indie genre

i could make claims like that to just about any indie band out there today
im just saying theres similarities
edit: not to come off hostile or anything
|
| |
im kinda weird in my thrice opinions cuz i like the water disc the best out of all the alchemy releases
how is that weird, that's the best one!
|
| |
what? just because it's indie doesn't mean it's bad. just because Word Alive is that weird offshoot of post-hardcore doesn't mean it's bad. I'm not judging it BECAUSE of its genre... it's just weird that some people seem bent on hating some things in this genre and don't see that this is of a similar quality, I think.
idk, does that make any sense?

I mean I have yet to hear good music that comes from the genre of this synthy over-produced abortion of post-hardcore but that doesn't mean at all that it can't be done.

SEA I JUST USED A DIFFERENT GENRE AS A DIFFERENT EXAMPLE
i just used indie b/c your more familiar with it!
haha
|
| |
yes. I know. and I don't get what you're saying. I already said just because Word Alive is that weird offshoot of post-hardcore doesn't mean it's bad. like isn't that what you were accusing me of?

enrique, what you should have done is this:
it's just so weird to me that the same people who deride shit like Vampire Weekend and whatever as objectively, artistically worthless trash don't see the irony of them enjoying The National.
