idk I think Vince Staples actually nails the idea too.

I don't think Damon was consistent enough with keeping the theme constant, since I have no idea what Popcaan's verses have to do with the theme, and Grace Jones doesn't even begin to

Vince does a really good job establishing a sort of post-apocalyptic theme and from there it all kinda picks up this claustrophobic, space-y feeling. Like being on some dark, cramped spaceship or something. Though Submission onwards stuff just starts getting really inconsistent.

after Submission it really is just a collection of songs

though there are a couple of songs in there that tie back to the theme (Sex Murder Party, Hallelujah Money, We Got the Power)

Ye, a collection of songs that blur the line of being a Gorillaz album and "Your favorite rapper (feat. damon albarn)" and thats where the songwriting gets mind-numbingly confusing.

For what its worth, Ascension, Strobelite, Saturnz Barz, Andromeda, She's My Collar, and Hallelujah Money all make for a top notch EP.

actually a lot of the features were because Albarn's daughter's into them (so "your favourite rapper ft. Gorillaz" probably isn't that far off the mark.

Morrissey, Dionne Warwick and Sade turned down features (Sade might have been good on Andromeda me thinks)

keen to get the deluxe tracks and alternate versions of each song (especially if we get the Damon + Noel + Graham version of Power, holy moly) so we can make a better tracklist for this thing

Humanz is really good and I hope more people enjoy it with its official release. I preordered the deluxe CD a while back and I cannot wait to see what the bonus tracks sound like.

I've always seen right through this shite and enjoyed it on a base level but I have to say Humanz is great.

I have Humanz at a 3 and it could go up or down tbh. I like the album overall but we'll see how well it holds up

I think it's around a 4. Not a good as this but as far as my discog rating goes, it fits like; PB > S/T > Demon Days = Humanz

This seems like a massive piss take but I genuinely do mean it when I say credit where it's due Albarn is one of the greatest song writers of all time.
