Half of this could just have been scrapped. HOWEVER, The Promise of Deceit and Forsaker are up there among the best cuts in the entire history of this band. These tracks are pure gold.

Seriously, if the whole album was up to the same standard as Forsaker, The Promise, Liberation or even Nephilim, it would be much better. Certainly doesn't top about half of their discog.

The Promise of Deceit is such a gem. There's this mystical, mysterious quality to it that I just find intoxicating. I guess you could say that about most of the album.

It's one of my favourite songs from them, top spot along with Unfurl. I love how unconventional and atmospheric it is. The album doesn't reach such heights anywhere else, Forsaker is massive but not in the same league.
