the thing you have to realize cake is that for the time this type of album, both in sound and quality was totally unheard of, this sounds like it could've been released yesterday

the main thing i don't like about the album is the lasting appeal of the album, the first two listens
I knew DSOTM is a great album, the songs are well written, David Gilmour's guitarwork is as solid as
ever etc. But the album never clicked for me and I find myself hardly ever listening to the album by
choice. So musically, there's not much I don't like about it, however I never think to myself "Hm, I'm
gonna listen to DSOTM today"

And yeah, MetallicOpeth I noticed that, it's definitely impressive that the album was released almost
40 years ago

The wall is very good , despite of being the most overrated album of this album it has a lot of memorable hooks and a solid concept

The Wall has a solid concept that turns goofy. The concept on The Final Cut was born from the same ideas but executed much better imo.

The thing about TDSOTM is that you won't listen to just one separate song. If you do, then you will be haunted by an irresistible desire to listen to the next song as well. The whole album seems to be like one song. When i want to listen to the record, i spin it from the beginning to the very end, always.

That's what i love about this record. It drugs on and on....

The next two albums are different. I can listen to whichever song i like without having the constant desire to listen to what's next. Each song is like a different, separate story.

"The whole album seems to be like one song"

That's what makes this album so special.
