Glee cover of the new song blows my mind.
|
| |
I find it way over-sung. They are throwing in notes that aren't even there or can't be supported by
the music. =/
The funniest thing about the performance is that they are smiling even though the song is about being
so drunk you can't walk yourself home, having friends getting high and a girlfriend who was beaten by
the main character of the song (Likely to do with drink). =P

Haha, I can't take Glee seriously. The only musical I've ever watched that's really worked for me is Hairspray. Oo and maybe Grease. Anyway this marks my 999th comment, and I will now stop commenting on everything completely until I have time to make an epic 1000th comment list.

I liked Sweeney Todd. Thought that was a great film. =)
But yeah, watching the Glee cast sing the lyrics of 'We Are Young' merrily is hilarious.

Production is... interesting.
Again, like 'We Are Young' it'll probably need to grow on me. Production is so strange.
How do I like this? It's genius and equally terrible at the same time. =/
It makes no sense.
Edit: Jeez the lyrics are intense. O.o

Haha, I'm just gonna choose to blindly love it.
|
| |
Have you listened closely to the lyrics?
Some of the best Nate has written.
I guarantee this'll split fans and critics alike. It's very... unique.

Holy shaz yeah they're good!!!! Didn't notice till this time through. I'm still gonna love it, and it may not be blind anymore. But yeah this kind of reveals that We Are Young wasn't necessarily one uniquely sounding track with the rest being like Aim and Ignite. Sounds like we're gonna be hearing a whole new fun. Most people seem to be reacting positively though.
|
| |
Although Some Nights (Intro) sounds like Aim & Ignite. The rest is like this odd blend of 'The
Gamber'... on drugs dancing in a club.
I'll admit the odd production is really growing on me but I can see critics tearing this a part.
My question to you Jacob is; which track are you most excited about hearing the studio version of? =)
|
| |
another lackluster track

Hahahaha, the Gambler comment made me laugh out loud.
Critics may tear it apart... I assume most will look into Aim and Ignite before completely judging
Some Nights. I think it's the "Funeral syndrome" or whatever of releasing a debut that's too good so
fans hate everything that comes after because they don't think it lives up to it.
and the fact that Some Nights Intro is somewhat Aim and Ignitey makes me wonder if fun.'s using all
their might to stop themselves from releasing a statement saying "Hey everyone, calm down. We know
what we're doing, this will all make more sense in a cohesive album." Hopefully we'll be pleasantly
surprised in that aspect.
The track I'm most excited to hear... Well now that WTF is off the table I'm gonna have to pick a
new one. I'm sure Some Nights Intro will be phenomenal. Also looking forward to All Alone. and
Stars, just because I've never been remotely disappointed by any of Nate's closing tracks. What
about you, Stephen?
|
| |
Most excited to hear 'Some Nights' (Not the intro) and 'Carry On' =)
I've heard 'It Gets Better' acoustically and I honestly can't see how the new sound applies. It sounds
like early The Format. =/
But yeah; so far this is almost a whole new shift in sound that I think a lot of fans will be put off
by.

i have absolutely no idea how im going to react to this record
|
| |
Neither do.
I've already described it as terrible genius. =P
It seems like something you'd say "Ahead of its time" but it isn't. It's just ahead of its own scale
of time. It makes no sense.
I think it's nice that fun. are changing though. I mean, I didn't want Dog Problems pt III.
So far 'One Foot' is the best lyricism I've heard from Nate in a while. Definitely better then
anything on Aim & Ignite.
"I happened to stumble upon a chapel last night and I can't help but back up when I think of what
happens inside. I got friends locked in boxes (that's no way to live) Would you call it a sin? It
isn't up them. After all I thought we were all your children."
For the most part I blame Jeff Bhasker. I don't think he has a clue what he's doing and Nate and the
gang trust his judgement far too much. Either way; it's slipping on me. =/ I was excited for a bit
but that's gone. I find this... well: bad music. =(

It was always a 5 in his heart.

Yeah, I get the comparison too. =)
It really was. =)
I was listening to it today when I realised "Hang on, this is my favourite pop album... how haven't I fived it?" Such a great collection of songs from start to finish.
