I don't know why everyone hates breakdowns so much.... They're great to thrash around to, even though most of them consist of one note being repeatedly chug chugged away at. But a good breakdown has some cool element to it... hmmm like a lot of converges breakdowns. Breakdowns are a great way to release tension in a song, you just shouldn't over use them or the song is becomes completely pointless and meaningless. I guess a lot of metalcore now is just like hip-hop for quote "metal-heads" who don't know shit about metal, Meaningless, but fun to dance to...

Whenever I have to listen to shitty metalcore/deathcore in my friends' cars, houses, etc. it's always like

"Oh this is nice, cool guitar parts, hey! a breakdown, I guess thats cool. Is this seriously still that breakdown from before, how long have they been doing that? Okay cool, finally over now the song can keep going. What's this!? Sweet, more cool guitar pa -- FUCK!! Seriously ANOTHER breakdown!? This is retarded, the rest of this song better be amazing. Oh, it's over..."

And by the third song I just start laughing every time those br00tal sections happen.
