This is actually really close to a 5 for me, approaching 40 listens and it hasn't gotten old at all. Only reason I hesitate is cause I skip burden and/or Hex Omega sometimes, whereas I never skip anything on Still Life (the only Opeth album i have at a 5)

Opeth's drummer definitely isn't amazing or anything but he does come up with some pretty creative beats and some neat high hat stuff every now and then.

I'm almost done with my review of this

which can be pretty hard to get in this style of music.

specially with the big dynamic changes etc.

which is impressive to me!

Well at least you guys aren't saying they have moments where the drumming is mediocre. Check out Deliverance for quite possibly their best drumming performance to date; courtesy of Martin Lopez who went a little nutty and left the band (hence why they acquired Martin Axenrot who does some of the sweetest fills on this album).

Honestly I have not listened to this enough for a rating yet, but I'm getting around to it, somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4 as of now but I'll just have to put in some more listening time.

Actually I think if there is another review posted that person should get beaten with a nickel filled sock...This Message Edited On 09.01.08
