This is far superior, Mariner isn’t even in the same stratosphere. They’re different beasts though and I’m not about to give anyone shit for it, not beyond fairly mild disagreement. Any fan of the band is good with me.

Never said it was best CoL. I honestly don't really like comparing Mariner to the others, as it was clearly crafted differently.

I only listened to their first 3 so far and this is an unpopular take, but i like S/T more than The Beyond. TB is just kind of undercooked in that it seems like a transitional album. It neither has the full force and sheer brutality of S/T nor the cinematic and grandiose quality of Salvation

this would make perfect sense if TB wasn't the most forceful + brutal thing in these guys' canon
