guys I need help interpreting Between the Bars
the song's clearly about dissolving your troubles away with alcohol, but I can't figure out how the lines "Drink up, baby/ look at the stars/I'll kiss you again/ between the bars" mean within that context.

Bars like prison bars. That was always my assumption. But I also for a little while just figured the
phrase was "between bars" instead of "behind bars" which is why I always interpreted it as prison
bars.
