... It's complicated. I really don't know any more, they're so different it's hard to compare them. Dummy is my fave though, that's for sure. S/t has a special vibe, just like this one. I like them for different reasons I guess. But the highs on s/t are stunning. Humming. The down-tuned Beth all the way at the end of the album (one of my fave Portishead moments, lends weight to the entire record for some reason, oh my that ending).

I’m not sure either. I think s/t t is more consistent and cohesive but third is a lot more groundbreaking and has both higher highs and lower lows. Tough to say how that averages out.
