I personally prefer when Oli does the more aggressive vocals on SS because of the better production, but they certainly not awful here.

SS has some really good songs on it. A fair number of their fans are people I like to judge, though. Oh well.

I went back and gave this album another listen-start to finish- to see what i thought.

My opinion has changed, but I still love it. Now for different(mor justified) reasons.

1st: the musicianship is pretty great. Honestly they have some pretty awesome guitarwork-including a couple solos, rare for the genre- and the drums are heavy hitting and never dissapoint.

2nd: Vocally, they are badass. Oli Sykes might be a douchebag little scene/emo/whatever kid; but holy shit he has some screams. He can hit the deathmetal highs, those cookie moster lows, and you can understand him most of the time which is nice. The kid has some beastly screams, through the whole range.

3rd: lyrics. Now i used to love them for the fact that their lyrics are fun to scream along with(like sesame street for emo kids), but they are not all that great. BUT: they aren't supposed to be. this whole album is just them screwin around for the most part. they just wrote some shit, for their first complete album, and guess what it was good. hard hitting, to the point. Brutal is what they wanted, and yea they got it, even if it was cliched for most the time.

I will stand by this album forever. BMTH did something rediculously good for a first full length, and i will never deny that. Hata's can suck my balls.

This is just a TBDM rip off. A bad one at that

The vocals are an attempt to rip them off

yeah idk this isn't that bad but they'll forever get hated on just because of their appearance and their hot topic fans.

@Neo, bands that use highs and then lows =/= trying to rip off TBDM. have you heard any other modern death metal? haha
