I can honestly get both sides. I can totally get people who like their artists to be decent human beings and when they feel the artist in case isn't that it severely detracts from their enjoyment of the album. It's a personal thing.

It's just that personally I can't be fucked to care. It's just the way I'm wired. I'd score low on an empathy scale test and it probably doesn't speak well for me but when I like what I'm hearing, I'm listening and (over)rating. Regardless of what I may think of the artist on a personal level.

I separate art from artist when it suits me because Im too much of a puss/hypocrite to give up on a band I love even when they turn out to be the worst twat. DSO a prime example but at least Im aware of that in myself I guess. The only thing that pisses me of is people that DO separate both berating those who don't like its dumb and theyre being soft. Its not, some people dont like to listen/watch/feel art by utter fking scumbags. Some dont care. Each to their own. Personally I will still listen but wont buy or give them any cash.
