don't disagree with that pyro. it just feels almost like all that can be done with metal has been done. i keep waiting for the big new innovation and it just isn't coming.
and like i said there's obviously great metal still being released, i just find myself gravitating towards the classics now while in the past i was drawn more towards the modern.

Its quite the opposite for me lol; whereas I was a big classics guy I now almost exclusively listen to newer bands. Might be due in part to the production. Bandcamp is a treasure trove for smaller bands and I can get lost in there like in a labyrinth

definitely an interesting parallel, guess it's natural to seek out the opposite that you grew up with. i am seriously kicking myself not getting into the classics really until now! on an osdm binge right now and absolutely having a blast. death discog for the first time!

I do agree that a lot of bands and genres peaked in the 80s, I just personally think that you end up making the rounds relatively quickly and I dont want them to get stale.
