Infinite Granite is my favorite from them too. They're such a versatile band, appreciate that they're not afraid to keep evolving and follow their inspiration. Also anyone who tries to dismiss it as typical shoegaze music must not be paying enough attention, as it's pretty unique, eclectic, and diverse. It sort of just reminds me of Vaura I guess.

Wow, Infinite Granite not only exceeded my expectations, but may have cemented itself as my favorite Deafheaven album next to this. Probably just the rose tinted glasses, but ill give it some time and I have confidence it will hold up.

Nice Dave. Honestly a better song than Dream House, though they're neck and neck.

Hot take but dream house is the weakest of the metal songs on here

the bookends are definitely the best to me, and I'd say "dream house" is solidly better than "the pecan tree". but I also simultaneously understand the sense that "dream house"'s supremacy in the world of music criticism and appreciation (is it kinda, like, THE metal song of the 2010s?) over the others is unfair.

Dream House is absolutely essential, and certainly deserving of the praise it gets. While it may be considered the peak of this band's excellency, there's just something about The Pecan Tree that makes me break. It's almost too emotional to bear all the way through, especially with the ending lyrics...
"I am my father's son.
I am no one.
I cannot love.
It's in my blood."
