Was never blown away by the Diamond Eyes title track. Always found Stephen's riff a little too repetitive. Royal goes much harder. Genesis is a bit more like Royal, which is probably why I dig it more.

Idk, the singles left me cold. My comment was a first impression though and I wrote it like 1 minute into the song lol. Still better than the singles though. I get why people like this band based on this album, but I didn't get it based in the singles

Same. I think people were really sucked in by the punchier production after Gore, but they wouldn't rank in the top half of this, or even KNY. It kinda sucks that it seems like they're not pushing themselves, like it's good enough as long as it has alternately heavy/pretty riffs and Chino wailing about eyes or water overtop.

I'm aware this is likely to be seen as a really bad take but meh.

i love to agree with you pika, lets do it more.

I've heard these guys but i have never really "heard them". I listened to Pony quite a bit but i find it a bit grating now and songs like "my own summer" or "back to school" annoy the f out of me (no idea why).

Weird thing is i love any band that is influenced by their sound or that people say "yeah they sure sound like Deftones".

If anyone could be so kind as to enlighten me a good order in which to listen to their discog i would very much appreciate it. I am listening to this album (DE) right now.
