I already know I'm going to laugh my ass off when I listen to Deafheaven on shuffle one day and I get a sequence of a song from Infinite Granite and something like the opening minute of "Brought to the Water" or "Black Brick" after.

I somehow hadn't heard Black Brick until just now, so thanks.

Black brick rules. Probably the best thing they've done

Black Brick rips so hard. m/

I can understand why people are upset with the new direction after they dropped a track that heavy tbh. Full album of songs like that would have been preferable but I love the gazey stuff too so

They still got shit for Black Brick sounding like run of the mill black metal, and they will get shit for Infinite Granite for sounding like run of the mill shoegaze.

just give me an EP of two black bricks and an ambient interlude between them and that'd be neat.

The Pecan Tree is still the best thing they've done.

Kettle is good, but every real track from this is better tbh.

Sunbather is still their best song, followed by Tunnel of Trees.

I've been on a Dfhvn kick lately and it isn't easy picking a favorite song, but it would be on this album for sure since it's their best. I think it'd be a tie between The Pecan Tree and Dream House, if Irresistible counts with it, cause that transition between the two is like chef's kiss. Vertigo would round out the top 3.

Honestly GMoC isn't far behind, love that one and have listened to it 10+ time already, which I haven't done with a new song in a long time.

"Vertigo", "Brought to the Water" and "Canary Yellow" are probably my fav. Deafheaven tracks. i haven't listened to Roads to Judah in a minute though.

Brought to the Water might be my fav on NB, it's the only one that sounds like a coherent piece. Call me crazy, but Canary Yellow is possibly my least favorite on OCHL but it's not bad at all.
