It was also not very impressive lol, unsurprisingly the vocals were way worse.

I'm just gonna say, he shouldn't have waited 40 years to cover it. It's just not fair. Make that what you will.

And Justice > this, but both albums are way better than anything else either band did imo

Dave should’ve just hired someone to do vocals like 5 albums ago Jesus Christ

And people will continue talk about Metallica vs Megadeth centuries after. That kinda drama is good cuz Its creates history.

I mean, that discourse is inherent to both these bands, it literally is their history lol

I mean we’re talking about it because Dave decided to end his entire discography on a Metallica cover lil homie…

and yeah Dave sounds like he rolled out of bed and walked into the booth for most of the new album, but instrumentally rtl sounds pretty good imo like I'm pleasantly surprised

oh yea for sure. i know its a tribute and went in like a positive manner, but cant help but feel that comes off as a massive BEG move to end your career on

I think a decent number of people have been wanting to hear Dave's take on anything in RtL for a long time and the cover was a little bit of fanfare, that's my takeaway

And then he did absolutely nothing with it. It literally just sounds like the most minimum effort cover ever. Like maybe switch up the solos or something a little more, I guess that’s unfair if he wrote the fuckin thing but such is life. Sorry Dave but this one’s a miss

And yes the vocals on it are so fucking bad. I guess The Last Note isn’t too bad, he’s literally singing about how old he is but man there’s just no fire in it at all
