Yeah you can't just say what you think right? You have to answer this in a calculated way.
Pathetic.

However, I do have to inform you that my most beloved lyrics are from underground greek rap bands, so you'll only get my favourite English lyrics

To be fair, Tool's lyrics from Lateralus/Aenima are p good by metal standards.
Ever seen the lyrics to One by Metallica? Fucking embarrassing.

it's more understandable/rational than a 5 rating
if you rate this 5, applying logic, you'd have to rate every Tool album a 5 as this is equal weakest with the Dhalsim album before this one

soooo, the time of judgement is nigh... I made a list of some lyrics I like, in no particular order. I just tried to mix the genres a bit, there's minimal ''metal'' lyrics here:
1. The Beatles - Eleanor Rigby
2. Kate Bush - Get Out of My House
3. Anna von Hauswwolf - The Mysterious Vanishing of Electra
4. Trophy Scars - Chicago Typewriter
5. Storm Corrosion - Storm Corrosion
6. Rishloo - Turning Sheep into Goats
Also, to clarify things a bit, it's not that Tool's lyrics themselves are banal, the prose can be stunning good, and of course there's some genius hidden in many songs. I have spent time reading their lyrics, which means they grabbed my attention. But overall I find most songs to be a bit preachy and/or new-age, and that's why I find it, in the end, to be a bit ''ok''.

As a hippy who likes to lounge around and listen to old new age records, I would appreciate it if you don't use that term to criticise a progressive grunge band. I hope that the stigmatization of my culture will come to an end.
Please understand.

Storm Corrosion?? lol good one. In case someone thinks mythodea is serious, allow me to shatter that illusion:
"Someone is calling her shorewards
Much likes horses
Raising dogs will sing to me
Hold back the tears in my comfort
We will forward in these pauses
The storm corrodes
Maps of a lift to the scaffold
On a nursery floor
Begs aloud not to stay
Cut from the stone in the quarry
This old friend of mine in his silence
The storm corrodes
Passed on the second hand slips outwards
Born in the curve the song drips endless
Thrown out the boy believes the secret
Grown up the dogs begin to reach it"
It's almost painfully bad.
