Sit & Mourn is similar to Forced To Stay or Permanent in the EP, songs that make the whole thing breathe and more diverse.

you say that those are the two best parts of any Knocked Loose song, yet the final 45 seconds of Don't Reach for Me exists
curious

That triple vocal part is sick but the caustic, evil breakdown immediately after elevates the song even more. Might be my favorite song by them overall tbh.

Not as good but I'm still hyped to hear that song live, I'm on my way to see the boys right now with Loathe! Setlist looks stacked

no it’s actually suffocate guys. dat breakdown
rly tho my favorite part of any knocked loose track is that groove on God Knows that starts at 1:20ish, after those reverby guitar leads that pop up. Then the Matt King verse. Then into that heavy as fuck outro. Good lord that’s some good shit

Yeah those PoG guest vocals are a perfect fit for that song in the EP. Band is good but they are yet to really impress me.

Just reporting back from seeing KL live for the first time. No Poppy. I wasn't expecting her to show up but part of me was hoping. I showed up early and stayed for all the bands, which I pretty much regret because they were all pretty mid. However KL murdered it, the set was great and they sounded massive, pretty much exactly how they sound on their records. Bryan and Isaac sounded incredible. Nicko did Poppies' parts on Suffocate and it sounded great. Not too many injuries but I kind of strategically avoided the worst pit areas. Show was packed and everyone had a blast.
I was surprised at how boring Loathe were, I never listened to them much but I know a lot of people are obsessed with them for some reason.

This band is Hatebreed for the new generation in terms of popularity. Modern global ambassadors of hc. I love to see it

Yeah, it's fucking awesome.
Although apparently I suck at identifying genres. Hatrebreed DOES sound like hardcore to me, but I thought Knocked Loose was a metal band until the rest of the world told me they were hardcore. I mean they have some Slayer-esque riffs on Laugh Tracks with some metal as fuck vocals imo. Sure there are a lot of breakdowns, but a lot of metal has breakdowns these days.
I dunno. Stuff like Jesus Piece also sounds like a straight up metal band, I don't really see them as straight hardcore at all.

All of these bands are metalcore but lean more towards the 90s metalcore sound which nowadays is lumped with more "traditional hardcore". I always refer to bands like Hatebreed and All Out War as "Slayercore" lol

Yeah I guess when I picture metalcore I always envisioned shit like Killswitch Engage or As I Lay Dying with more melodic riffs and singing choruses included
As for hardcore, I always pictured that as more intense punk music, not music to literally murder people to lol

The lines become more and more blurred as the genre evolves no doubt. Purists may disagree but the more melodic metalcore was essential for the genres survival
