Shadows always limited my enjoyment of this band. [2]

He frustratingly has moments where I think he sounds incredible though, at least on Waking the Fallen, and people have mentioned strong vocals on Nightmare/The Stage but I don't know those albums well enough to remark so I'll have to check them out at this point. Sadly those days are probably mostly behind him judging by his performance on this album, I can only imagine how he's gonna be sounding live this tour and for the rest of their career it'll prob be downhill unfortunately.

Gotta say... based on the title track, I really want to hear more Syn piano on future A7X albums. Absolutely beautiful piece

Fantano calling the t/t "ragtime" in his review is bizarre to me, lol

I would've been more surprised if Fandango liked the record

Man, I do miss CKN. I'm still friends with him on Facebook, but I really enjoyed seeing how his channel evolved over the years

And yeah, this is the first A7X review Fantano's ever done, although he briefly touched on the t/t of The Stage back when it came out

I'm glad he brought up that "bigger harder faster more war more harder" part on whatever song it's off because it was a definite wtf moment for me. The plastic daisies line wasn't that big a deal to me though.

Do they really sound off-key? There were some cringe moments ("plastic daisies") but they were never out of tune

Mattel would be the best song on here if not for the dreadful plastic daisies hook

You mean to tell me fantano did a metal album review where he’s off the mark?! I’m shocked.

Album is gud. And I say this as someone who thought A7X went into a slow-motion-car-crash after City of Evil. But the last album was good.

This is... idk what to even call it. I'm on my fifth playthrough. I've been playing it all day. Someone stop me. M Shadows is equally terrible and beautiful on this album... but part of me thinks the terrible parts fit well in the songs.

Me as a young teenager 20 years ago would laugh at the idea of Avenged Sevenfold still creating relevant music. And you know what? They did. I need to listen to this a lot more.
