Probably the biggest reason I can't quit smoking weed is bc music sounds so damn good when you're baked.

Nah cheech and chong is funny, I was thinking more along the lines of customgrow420 and "duuuude weed" type people

'Idk why but these guys feel like the most homogenous band on the planet.'

Hmm, I'm sensing maaaaaybe a modicum of hyperbole here tect... on the planet? Have you listened to many hardcore/metalcore orientated bands, or thrashy OSDM perhaps, or ANY wave 2 BM? (don't answer that by the way, it's rhetorical). ETID are more homogenous than the most homogenous bands in those genres (as an example), nah get out.

These guys pack a not insignificant dose of variation into a style that is often relentless in its homogony, oftentimes as an aesthetic choice.

The chorus riff in Things With Feathers reminds me of the ending riff in Out Of The Black by Royal Blood.

It’s also worth noting that metalcore, in general, is a genre to which i’m not exactly warm and privy. I’m always willing to give it (or any other genre, for that matter) a fare shake, because outliers always exist, and i am not one to write off albums i haven’t heard simply because of how they’re generically classified.

for some reason i though ETID was more of a post-hardcore band. needless to say the first album caught me a little off guard lol.

it should be noted that my use of the word ā€œcontrarianismā€ above was 100% in jest; i was poking fun at JayEnder for calling me contrarian back on page 42.

i forgot sputnik threads only maintain a relevancy over the two most recent pages

The contrarian gene I apparently hold is already disgusted by the rating I shall eventually give this. I'm off to slap some pitiful scores on more deserving hype-train material, brb.
