"I still don't get how people can flock to this band but Sikth continues to get overlooked"

Maybe because, hear me out, Periphery makes better music, hear me out, more frequently, HEAR ME OUT, and markets it better.

I love SikTh but you're tripping if you think Periphery got big simply by ripping them or Meshuggah or Protest the Hero or [insert band here] off.

Whoa whoa

Death of a Dead Day is miles better than anything Periphery have done.

"better music"

highly debatable. I don't dislike Periphery though, and should save the Sikth parading for the Sikth threads.

Yeah, it is debatable. Personally I think Trees and DoaDD are about 60% incredible and 40% self indulgent crap. But that's beside the point.

Periphery give props where they're due and even have Goodman guest on this album. That doesn't mean they don't have a unique sound and style and are better at connecting people than SikTh have ever been. Music isn't s meritocracy after all.

Sikth *really* didn't have much American visibility when those albums dropped unfortunately. They had a label that recognized them, but weren't much for promotion or getting them onto good tours imo. Should have been on that inaugural Sounds of the Underground and the like, not touring with the remnants of nu-metal bands.

It is cool AF that Mikee is on this, though.

SikTh over Periphery any day of the year. Periphery aren't bad though, I just have some issues with them from time time

Sin's just a habitual line stepper, which is ironic given his hate for periphery.

I'm hoping they turned the corner with these ratings. I thought that Juggernaut was as close as they got to greatness, and if it had been one condensed album it could really have been something.

Obviously. Otherwise, hacks like Periphery would not have persisted for as long as they have.
