tortionist plz come back

I used to follow the boys and the band on IG but had to stop since I got so bored with the social media output of musicians not making music

I miss anything?

Turns out I was still following their IG. They have just deteriorated to dust and become nothing at all, only periodically posting to sell merch. I'm going to take that, whether they like it or not, as them giving up as a band and throwing in the towel. BORING. NEXT.

Seriously, post something every once in a while to keep your fans satiated. They're looking lazy at this point.

Oh well they had a good run. Being eclipsed by dozens of more interesting, more driven, bands, who care at all, since their apparent hiatus.

Social Media Drinking Game:

Drink every time this band reposts an old video or concert photo and captions it "EBB AND FLOW" or "ReImAgInEd" as if that'll stave off fans' rabid appetite for new music.

And here I am, a fan of Persefone, a band who spends a minimum of 4 years between releases making their next record lol

I think the wait for metanoia was actually five years???

If the quality is good (it is, Persefone are gods) then it's like, all good lads, full steam ahead, I'll be patient. I'm not a fan of these guys anymore, but it seems like they're still staying pretty active touring, and if it culminates in a release that's ultimately up to their standard, it's all fine by me.

Y'all crying while I am waiting on a new Earthside record for almost 8 years now... Big chance it's getting released this year though

Like I said dude lol, that's entirely up to you. Some of my favorite artists take their sweet-ass time making new stuff.

To be expected if a 4.0+ is given to prog metal's version of paint drying.

Mars i disagree with your rating of this but agree with being fine waiting if the quality is worth it.

Yeah lol my point wasn't even about Persefone being better, was just about fans being patient for something that's ultimately worth it. I could pick from any other artist too that uses a longer release schedule.

Obviously we've reached a point where, economically speaking, it's much more advantageous to have a consistent and relatively brisk recording cycle. However, that rush can also cause the quality to suffer.

And the 'Tortionist lads are still out and about and touring, so it's not as though they're out of action.

Spinning this for the first time in a long time, I like it more than I used to so far. Probably gonna have to bump the rating lol
