Lol that should be your reaction to every album you hear, no matter how new it is.

I'm no expecting anything till 2021. Though when I saw them in August they said they were working on the new album.

Yeah just came here to reiterate how much of a masterpiece this is. Not sure I understand people preferring Spiritual migration but to each their own.

There's just very few bands that hit this many checkboxes for me, while also having lyrical content that I can relate to and that means a lot to me. Fucking great band. Love these guys.

Probably the only band I would be willing to drive 8 hours to a show to, to then drive immediately back that night for class in the morning, as I did a year ago when they had their limited US tour.

You guys really like keyboards huh? It’s inoffensive, admittedly less jarring than Spiritual Migration, but this one has completely passed me by thus far. It’s ok, wait a few months, then I’ll end up loving it like Shin Ken, maybe.

Honestly no idea what you mean by the keyboard comment. The guitar/keyboard duo is as balanced as they have always been. You should probably re-listen if you really think that isn't the case.

Seems more key-centric, the guitars lack punch, so maybe that’s why. Lots of lighter interludey sections as well. I’ve heard this three times.

Sure, this is more key-oriented than SM. And it's probably their "lightest" record. So what? It's still the most diverse and interesting record they have done yet. They pretty much took a little bit of everything from past record while still adding new elements. I guess you just have a really hard time accepting the bigger focus on prog than previous records huh.

'Sure, this is more key-oriented than SM. And it's probably their "lightest" record. So what?'

So maybe not everyone likes the same things? Yeah, those are all negatives in my world. Lighter? Bad. Proggier? Bad. Greater focus on airy keys, rather than riffs. Bad.

I'm not a massive melo-death guy anyway, so I guess it was always going to be unlikely that I'd appreciate these guys once they toned down the heaviness.

This album is heavy though... you make it out to be an ambient light record with no riffs lol

Ambience is big good for me mostly but if you don't like that aspect it's fair enough I guess
