for me it's top tier death metal and sounds like candy to my ears. more quality songs and gym music. production's not perfect but nothing basic EQ work can't fix.

The way these guys write their songs fascinates me. More than any other metal band, their songs just kind of evolve and mutate until they reach their conclusion rather than moving through well demarcated riffs and sections. EiF demonstrates this more than any of their other works, though they all share that characteristic. Their sound is so monolithic, and employs dissonance in such a musical and melancholy way. The composition on this doesn't reach the genius heights of EiF here and we don't see the same use of counterpoint but the band still executes their vision to perfection here. IMO there's been no better DM band in the last decade.
