early Foxing is just not my shit compared to their last three records. All of them are just far more ambitious and have stronger vocals, lyrics, and far more interesting songwriting for the most part… I think I’m gonna try to piece together an Albatross/Dealer best of and try to make it flow like a full album.
I think there’s enough good tracks on both to make for a truly amazing album.
Night Channels, Eiffel, Glass Coughs, Winding Cloth are my favorites here, and on Albatross it’d probably be Rory, The Medic, Inuit, and the Bit by a Dead Bee tracks.

Beautiful song. I have to be in a very specific mood for most of this record tho
But when it hits it fuckin HITS. Best active band imo, glad to see them getting exposed to more folks with the TBS/Coheed tour. It was our hometown but there were a surprising amount of Foxing fans. I thought we’d be the only ones crazy enough to drop that much dough for a 6 song set

The Magdalene elder goes without saying. Heh This was a huge St. Louis band like the sports when they blew up too!
I got into them during the CYLS era. I got nothing new to say. They changed style a lot per album. Also I think a question about how you guys seem rather upbeat why do you write such sad songs is mostly just straight forward for people who don't just follow pop music.

their first two have always been my least favorite but there’s some gold here. Night Channels and Eiffel are among their best tracks.

Well shit maybe give Draw Down the Moon a shot! Like I said in the other thread it feels like if Nearer My God went full pop rock, where the self titled is that exact opposite.
737 blew me away the first time I ever heard it. And Speak With the Dead is easily their best closer and really what I hope they close these final two shows out with. It’s sprawling and the times I’ve seen them play it they do like a two minute jammy post rock crescendo and i so wish it was actually in the song.
If you end up checking out DDTM and liking it, def give their “Live at the Grandel” video a shot. It’s literally my favorite “live album” of all time. I wish they’d put it on streaming because I got it on vinyl.

OH hawks I meant to send this to you, but it’s the second of Foxing’s audiotree sessions. The first is albatross tracks, this one is all Dealer.

Night Channels is already one of my absolute favorite songs of their’s but goddamn this version could bring the gods to their knees.

Really hoping they do one more Audiotree session before calling it a day. the studio is in Chicago if I remember right and they’re playing 2 shows there. Plenty of time to get in a few songs…
The NPR tiny desk Nearer My God performance is amazing too. Really stripped back but really damn good.
And i don’t usually go crazy for music videos but the Night Channels one is basically a short film and is one of my favorite music videos ever. I’m gonna miss these guys so much, they’ve been the soundtrack to my adult life.

Ya, kinda wild. I mean just how diverse their discog is there’s bound to be a bunch of different opinions. I think I like this more than Albatross but that’s it. I like Nearer My God on a lot more.
