The vocal trade-offs in January 10th are honest-to-god masterpieces of vocal work

Had never heard of these guys until I came across them here. Only listened to this and debut, but these dudes are fucking fantastic. I love the yearning/longing of the vocals with the post rock aspect. Has a very “searching” quality to it that resonates with me.
Still need to spin these more (and album 3 and 4), but I think I definitely prefer this album. The debut was great too, this just feels more fully realized. The one two punch of I can be afraid of anything (best track on the album imo) and Mount Hum is incredible. Transcendent and powerful.
Also just started checking out taking back Sunday, only first album so far, and I really like what I hear. Want to check out Foxing, Cursive, Texas is the Reason, Braid and Christie Front Drive as well. I love SDRE, mineral and empire empire, so it kindof led me to the other bands. Also checked American football, but it’s a no from me dawg.

Had to bump this down a notch after a more few listens. I still love it and there are a handful of 5 star songs here, and while I wouldn’t say there’s even a bad song here, it does sag a bit in the middle. Loses momentum and Just flounders here and there, but recovers with the last and best two songs on the album.
Gonna move to Always Foreign in the next day or two, and also move to TBS second LP (running the discogs on both, had never listened to an album by either band).

Always foreign is their best imo but prob their least post-rock, you'll prob dig the latest one
