i think this edges out ae purely on nostalgia for me. can't really articulate why but this album's just been a major life changer for me.

AE is a solid 4. Good album but this is superior. I prefer Old over AE too, in fact Old is my favorite DB project... Can't explain why.

Half of this album slays, the other half leans a bit too heavily on cliches. For the vinyl lovers above, side B is the biggest offender for me ('I Will' to 'Blunt After Blunt').

Album certainly finishes strong though. Paves the way for the more experimental stuff he did later on. Hopefully he still has his masterpiece inside him. Atrocity Exhibition is close, but doesn't really fulfil his potential for me as much as others seem to think it does.

i felt atrocity exhibition's side A was so good but was downhill from there (Not saying all the songs sucked, but i was less impressed as it proceeded).

agreed that Side B is dumb lol...or maybe i just like sad danny b

Ae is kind of boring tbh. Diminishing returns. I can always come back to this and some of the stuff on old

I would say AE is far from boring, especially when tracks like Ain't it Funny and Goldust exist on that album which are arguably some of Danny's most manic tracks. This album I would agree is still probably just a hair better than AE however, especially in terms of replay value.

AE has some great material for sure, it just reeks of been-there-done-that.

Dan- stay salty
