Black Lake was my favorite, but now it's my least favorite out of the actual songs.

I don't know. Just doesn't have the same effect on me as the other ones.

I just remember you raving about it being (definitely) the best song here. Oh well..

Yeah it was by far my favorite and then I don't know what happened. Just felt like the other songs hit harder after a while.

Fair enough.
Talking about growers, To Drown is slowly making more sense within the album context. It may actually be one of darkest pieces I've heard from Agalloch.

Ya, I honestly think this album feels 100% complete when listened to from beginning to end, the way the album grows extremely dark on black lake and then all of a sudden opens up into midwinter fires, it all fits really good as a whole.

Listened to this once and while I usually take some time to develop my full opinion, from just the one listen I loved it WAY more than I thought I would. Expected to go in and come out disappointed out of boredom, but Agalloch managed to capture me.

Ghosts is still the weakest actual song here.
I agree

That's probably why you like it so much.

^People should take note of this guy. This 'approach' has spared me from many potential disappointments ;)

I want Agalloch to release an EP of classical guitar pieces. It would seriously be the best thing ever.

That would be pretty damn interesting.

I would love that, that's my favorite thing about them.

The only time they've used a classical guitar is here on Black Lake, aside from that they've used steel strings I think completely exclusively.

Are you talking about just this album?
Because there are quite a lot of classical guitar parts in their other albums.

I was specifically talking about this album, should have specified. Wish they used them more here.
