I like your review and I do agree that too many of his songs pretty much say "rap needs me". Rap does need Eminem because, IMO, he's the best COMMERCIAL rapper out there, easily. As far as talent, flow and creativity go - there are few who are better.



As far as substance goes... I like that he talks about his life but I feel that so many of his songs (the serious ones) have the same content. I'm guilty of enjoying the hell out of the guy for his impeccable flow and freestyles. "Despicable" is awesome! But I'd like him to make more social, political observations.



He does return to form...and I do love "Not Afraid", "Despicable", "Won't Back Down", and "No Love". But he can do better!
