yeah but they're awesome for doing what they do regardless, i remember their myspace page having a long thing on it about how they did earth tour even without any backing and often got paid in booze or not at all. then at the end of the tour they made like $12 to split between the band and all their peeps. good on them for being the most passionate, funny, and awesome band on earth tho, especially for a bunch of nihilists

yeah of course, i'm not trying to diss them but being the ultimate trend annihilating contrarian DIY band and then being mad that you aren't making money from it is classic wanting to have your cake and eat it.

havent seen earth tour but i watched the ukraine tour dvd and they seem like really cool dudes who genuninely love music despite being a bit too self impressed and obnoxious at times

yeah i watched earth tour and it really just cemented my opinion of them. they can be a bit self-important but they always seem happily surprised when their music is received well. i think most of the time they're just pissed about their audience not understanding them more than about money, but i totally see what you're saying.

they played a few dates in England a few months ago. in august i think.

They've been doing that for a bit now. They did a really similar touring stint a year or two ago I think. And last summer/fall I think they did a little "south of the border" type thing. Maybe I'm just a doubter haha, but their shows and touring stints seem so sporadic and short lived that they just don't seem to be for anything other than fun and not really indicative of a come back. But I'd love to be proven wrong.

that south america tour was years ago, 2009 i think. they just did it to play the only continent they missed on earth tour. i was them in 2010 i think but there hasn't been much since that i know of. i thought they were fine after a natural death though, so who knows, maybe they're just taking it slow.

I wasn't aware they did a South America one in 09. I thought they did an Africa one in late 09 or early 2010. But I know fo sho they just recently did (maybe another) like a month long "tour" in Central America or whatever late last year. I remember they had to go without Nathan, so they had the bassist who recorded on Desperate Living fill in.

Yeah it's a little silly to bitch about sales when you approach your music and lifestyle like HORSE consistently has. I mean, I have absolutely no issue with becoming frustrated and realising the endeavor is no longer worth the effort with no reward, or normal life just takes total priority. So if they don't come back properly, that's fine. Being in a band like this is exhausting and often thankless. But it is stupid to actually publicly bitch.
