Yeah that song is sick, definitely one of the best songs on here. Not necessarily my personal favorite, but it's up there. It's hard to pick favorites though, for me it kinda depends on my mood when I'm listening to it. Punish/Silence/Edenspring are all up there for sure, Emptiness, ..of Melancholy, Lethe. Gallery. Man, so many classics on this one.

I have never explored the melodic side of metal much at all...that which is dark and abrasive seems to draw me. Would this, however, be something I could derive enjoyment from? I have enjoyed a fair bit of Carcass and At the Gates a time or two.

@Fear, a lot of melodic death metal is really evil sounding. Depends on what you're listening to, some bands definitely go overboard with melody but yeah. This is definitely worth your time though, just go check Punish My Heaven and/or Edenspring on youtube.
