my kindle has a warm light thing it really just looks like reading paper, doesnt strain my eyes at all you can set it to be like a deep deep orange which is soothing. agree otherwise my older kindles that didnt have that were a little painful to read at night

also being able to just tap on the book you want to continue reading and it opens up to the last page you left off at is just too convenient

i saw that, will definitely be getting that one as well. his voice is just such an easy read. really entertaining, funny and bluntly honest.

never understood the hate for this one at all. i love how much pure anger there is on this. but sandwiched between two of the widely considered best metal albums of all time will make it seem lesser i suppose.

this has multiple of their best songs tho so it really deserves to be in the conversation

i definitely agree! this is probably my second fav megadave. i would take peace sells but i think he is much better vocally on here. he just sounds a bit off on peace sells to me which has always held it back a tick.

He sounds the best on Peace Sells
Also when you’ve lived in as many uppity hipstery neighborhoods as I have ppl just leave books in those little free libraries

i've seen others say that as well but i just don't get it. he is so strained and there are definitely weird effects used on his voice in some songs like the conjuring. everything after is so much more confident and natural sounding.
instrumentally though, might be the best metal album ever. i still love it.

my favorite Dave vocal performance is Youthanasia which is probably a bit of a dark horse

definitely a good choice, so much bite on that one. i'd actually say cryptic writings was probably his peak singing wise. some really huge hooks that he just crushed.

Youthanasia and Cryptic for sure. I’d include Risk in that because he was really trying to be a good ‘singer’ on those.
