The artwork associated with each Dark Tranquillity release has also been amazing. So abstract and mentally invigorating.

Haven't listened to that one enough. I remember it being pretty sweet though. "Insanity's Crescendo" is a great song.

Incredible song that one. Band just fucking rules. My first real taste of metal too. So many bands I checked out afterwards have fallen by the wayside too. Sign of a top tier band.

There are bands like DT, In Flames and Edge of Sanity, and there is Carcass. So we have two types of melodeath?

I wish I knew more bands like Carcass, Cuz Arch Enemy sucks now and all I have is Kalmah

Carcass are usualy credited as the originators of MDM. Or maybe they just get more credit 'cause of their grindcore beginnings and the distance they had to cover.

Unanimated - Ancient God of Evil, Eucharist - Mirrorworlds and Pandemonium - Insomnia are also cool lesser known melodeath albums.

Does anyone know of anything like this but with cleaner vocals? The instrumentals are fantastic but vocals like this just aren't my cup of tea.
