Well as a survival horror, not perfect, but in terms of everything else around, it's one of my favorites. The story is so fucking engrossing and the voice acting is perfect. If you pick up all the audio and text logs, the back story is so well thought out and chilling.

lol sorry man, I just don't find something good about as far as horror goes

Whenever the atmosphere builds up with all the horrible stuff that happened in the ship it has to completely destroy it with jump scares (I absolutely FUCKING HATE jump scares immensely) and insanely cartoony gore

"It's alright" was a little too much - I actually like it as far as shooting goes, it's satisfying in that sense, but as a survival horror it comes pretty short for me.

I'm just talking about the first one - The sequels have even less horror in them

Well like I said, as a horror game it's not perfect, but when it all comes down to it, I return to that game for the story every once in a while. The second one too.

what about when you board your old vessel and don't get attacked by anything for like 20 minutes while you make your way through the ship? talk about building tension

I understand hating jump scares. I expected to be scared a lot while playing Dead Space but instead I found myself being pretty creeped out by the idea of the situation itself, wanting to find out even more about the story and I just kept rooting for everyone to escape. I was crushed when Hammond get slaughtered.

Scariest Games:

Silent Hill 2

SCP Containment Breach

Condemned: Criminal Origins

Clocktower (Original - 1995)

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem

Fatal Frame

Amnesia: The Dark Descent (A bit overrated but still has its moments)

Siren

Doom 3

Outlast

Nameless Game (DS)

System Shock 2

Resident Evil (Remake)

The Suffering

Those get my vote.

Siren is damn underrated, like its so bleak and never lets up on the tension.
