Considering they've never put out an outright bad album, that is quite an awful take indeed.

'Gore' and 'SNW' have their lowlights, especially in the case of the former, but other than that they've been solid for multiple decades now. They've earned their place.

Went back and listened to 'Ohms' today for the first time a while, and came away wanting another album sooner than later based on how much of an improvement this was over 'Gore'. So hopefully the rumors of that single coming the 27th are actually true.

Cool that the Chino threads are gaining traction again

Hard to believe that they will drop this year again but let's see

Between kicking out their bass player and a bat shit guitarist that won’t tour I find it hard to get excited about any new deftones.

Watching some of their recent live stuff overseas, Lance Jackman appears to be filling in really well for Steph.

Also dig the addition of his backing vocals.

I was expecting the comment to end with a "Chino sounds like shit"

Gore deserters will disagree with that take.

Gore is a bad album by deftones standards but its a fine sorta inoffensive album otherwise

Tbh I don't think the quality of songwriting is all that different between this and Gore, this just has amazing production while Gore sound fucking awful

Listening to white pony tonight reminded me how much their sound has changed. Obviously I don’t want the same album 10 times and enjoy their newer sound but they really lost what Im gonna call the sleaze factor on SNW and definitely by DE

"they really lost what Im gonna call the sleaze factor on SNW and definitely by DE"

I think 'Rocket Skates' and 'You've Seen the Butcher' on DE are a couple of the most deliciously sleazy songs in their whole discog.
