That would be ideal… I really hope they can pull it together and give us a good swan song but that lead single didn’t exactly inspire a lot of hope

Those lyrics sounds like they were written by a 13-year old

it's an intentional ode to old in your face punk songs and dave has always written corny stuff. peace sells, sweating bullets etc. not for everyone but i think it's a fun time. i've always enjoyed the more punk-y megadeth songs, especially the anarchy cover. solos rip. love how crisp the production is on the new one, riffs really standout. i actually think dave sounds pretty good too considering his age and what he went through as well.

Agreed, he sounds fine. I just think the lyrics are far lamer than peace sells. The song riffs, solos, structure all rock.

The soloing on these two singles has been top tier, but the lyrics are so first draft on both songs. I’m just looking forward to the “Ride the Lightning” cover

This and RtL are examples of lightning in a bottle.

No way to replicate them.

Also I'm slightly older than this album, damn.

RTL had way too many ballards... not that its hurt the album in any way but clearly not relentless lightening throughout like this. Their debut however was.

No it didn’t.

Anyways, I finally listened to the other two singles, and even if Dave’s vocals weren’t complete trash the instrumentals would still come across as uninspired. Let There Be Shred and Tipping Point are okay but man Puppet Parade just sounds flat out like none of them want to even be doing this and I Don’t Care also really lives up to the title.

Right now my expectations are low, and I’m kinda curious what the “final” Megadeth song will sound like, and what his take on RTL sounds like. Other than that it’s morbid curiosity. Album will be a hard 2.5 tops unless Dave literally dropped all the worst songs as singles
