Chino just fucking sucks live. There, I said it.

I caught them in Portland, so maybe they were just rusty since it was literally their first show in 3 years, but it just wasn’t good.



Chino barely sang Beware aside from the chorus, he just did this weird shout during the verses. He didn’t even bother to do the outro to Bloody Cape, which is the best fucking part of the song, and they only played two songs off Ohms.



Like I love Diamond Eyes, Rocket Skates etc, but we’ve all heard all that shit before, play the new songs ffs /rant

I've been watching some footage from their current tour and he sounded better than he has since 2010 from what I saw.

From the videos I saw, he both sang the Beware chorus and the outro to Bloody Cape so maybe you caught them at a bad night :/ (meaning they/he was drunk as fuck)

That's a legit criticism, though I would want them to play more stuff from their old albums, perfectly fine with 2 songs from Ohms. Though would prefer those songs to be Ceremony and Radiant City for example.

I saw the Deftones in 16 and that was maybe the best I've ever seen them. Chino sounded fantastic. The time before that in 14 was fantastic, too.



I saw them right after SNW came out and god, he sounded awful.

Feel bad for the other two who seem to keep a low profile.



And I've seen them twice; one time they were amazing the second time was like a washed up deftones cover band

Theres maybe five bands I’d be willing to dish out that kind of cash to see and none of them were that weak live aside from Deftones.

Yeah seems as though there tickets have skyrocketed in price for whatever reason. Saw them twice during the Gore cycle and only recall paying like $60-70/ticket. Didn't even bother trying to get tickets this time around with prices being like 3x that

What the. Last time I saw Deftones was on the KNY tour. Standard priced ticket of like $35. When did they gain gouged ticket price status?

hell even j pre pandemic for the very same tour they were way cheaper and then ticketmaster fuckin voided my reasonably priced tickets and sold them to someone else for like 3x the money

Have to remember the band don't pick the ticket prices, its the venue or the label, or the website you buy them from. I was gonna see them during their tour with AFI, but backed out because of an illness. Ticket prices varied wildly from site to site. Think it was £25 to see them in Manchester but was close to £100 for their London show.



I don't think Chino is a prick, he seems nice. The way Sergio has been treated is shitty but I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that they've always seen him as standing in for Chi. I think they're always going to struggle with a new bassist, just like they won't release Eros. They're still fucked up over his death
