I think that melodic metalcore sound branched out all at once, not saying AILD are generic but that sound got big quick.

I lived with a girlfriend I truly loved for a long time. she cheated on me at my place while I was at work. I didn't find out about it till the dude called me and started talking shit. I grabbed all her stuff and told them they could pick it up on the side of the road. after a few weeks of him still running his mouth and being so heart broken that I had racoon eyes from lack of sleep and dropping 20 pounds because I couldn't stomach to eat I later saw them at a show. I threw a beer bottle at his head then beat him up in the middle of the crowd. we both got kicked out and I told him outside he knew where to find me. as I walked away I heard him whining about how none of his friends helped him jump me when he was losing. on the way home he called me and only then started running his mouth saying shit like "your girl told me your mom is dead, I hope the maggots are eating her corpse." I saw red and told him to meet up with me again. he never showed like the real coward that he is. in the meantime I slept with his girl he cheated on mine with just to even up the score about what he said to me. not even two months later my ex calls me up telling me he ended up cheating on her with some other chick and she had to move back home. she stared crying for me to take her back so I met up with her and acted like all was forgiven. we ate with some friends after a show then we went back to my place. I fucked her and let stay over then went back down to chill with company. in the middle of the night I pissed on her face while she was sleeping and told her to kick rocks. not sure how she got home when she lived an hour away nor did I care. now I'm sure you're thinking, "dude you're fucking twisted" but honestly they all had it coming. I don't feel any remorse because of all the pain they caused me.
