How exactly did it occur to Neige that Alcest needs a clean modern production?? That drum sound hurts. The songwriting is not great either, Am​é​thyste is the only thing that I remember as truly good. As a consolation, the artwork is among the best I've seen ever and suits the music perfectly.

"return to the drum sound om kodama" it's not? Even the booklet does say otherwise. I read that for Chants they recorded everything themselves 'taking as much time as we want' which is usually a recipie for disaster. On Kodama they still worked with their long time engineer Benoît Roux who also mixed Spiritual Instinct and whom they finally dropped here which honestly shows.
