First time I heard the bass on Advent, I knew I was going to love this

Advent has some of 'Peth's best acoustic guitar lines imo

I underrated this hard. Top 5 Opeth and close to a 4.5.

To Bid You Farewell is my favourite Opeth song.

It has some of the best acoustic work I've ever heard (outside of jazz).

Edit: the fretless bass lines are incredible as well.

To be honest the only song I don't dig as much is Nectar. The rest of the album is awesome.

^ Black Rose Immortal is awesome too, especially the quieter sections. The acoustic parts in that song are Opeth's best imo.

One of my least favourite Opeth albums, to be honest.

It has some nice parts, but most of it just bores me, sadly.

really? :[

well to each their own I guess. This is among one of their least accessible albums IMO. However it does show opeth at their greatest level of musicianship and musical versatility

I listened to this everyday at some point, but it never appealed to me as much as their other works

did.

Yes it shows what this band is capable of, look at their later releases, that should say enough

really.
